Focus on RPSE

Students study a wide range of topics during both their core Religious, Personal and Social Education (RPSE) lessons and also if they progress onto studying Religious Studies as a GCSE. The very nature of this subject lends itself to discussion based activities and skills of persuasive writing alongside verbal discussions, both vital for many career paths.

Recently as part of their

RPSE independent research project on Alternative Religious Movements, Katie and Lucy in Year 9, made an incredible cake to represent the key

beliefs of a group from America

called ‘Heaven’s Gate.’ Well done on a fantastic presentation and for going ‘above and beyond.’

In Year 10, students took part in a trip to Neasden Mandir (Hindu Temple) and St Paul’s Cathedral in London with the RPSE department. Religious Studies students were able to explore these two magnifi cent buildings and see these faiths in action. Both communities were very welcoming and it was an absolute privilege to

looking forward to running this trip again next year.
