Broadstone Art Society’s Spring Exhibition foyer and this proved popular with visitors. There were


Broadstone Art Society held a


week long Exhibition in April at The Youth Centre in Broadstone.


Two coffee mornings


were organised to run alongside the exhibition with home-made cakes and tray bakes provided by members. Money from these events will be given to the Society’s chosen local charity for this year, Julia’s House, Dorset & Wiltshire Children’s Hospice. £154.25 was raised from the coffee mornings.


£215 from the raffl e for a painting of “Holes Bay” by Christine Clark (pictured above) and a goodies hamper will also be donated to the charity. The painting was won by Mrs Brindle from Broadstone and the hamper was won by Mrs Pinson, also from Broadstone.


There was a wide variety of subjects and media on display. Visitors were also able to view some members’ sketch books and work in progress in the

(pictured right). 2nd was Wendy Alcock with “Just William” and third was Eddie Lowdon with “Mousehole, Cornwall.” They both live in Broadstone.


The Members’ Award, voted for by Art Society members was given to Barbara Davis from Bournemouth for her abstract work “Mist Obscuring the View.” 2nd was was Eddie Lowdon with “Mousehole, Cornwall” and third was Carl Richardson


with “Tranquility.”
