Family Fun Day 2018


I am delighted to confi rm that our headline sponsor for the 2018 Broadstone Family Fun Day on Sunday 1st July has been confi rmed as McCarthy & Stone, who are building their new development in the heart of our community.


A representative of the company will be offi cially opening the event at 12 noon and I am excited to announce that this will be followed by a special performance by the Land Girls – performing to mark the 100th anniversary of World War One.


They have agreed to waive their fee for this event, so please do come down to watch, and tell your neighbours to come along too. Their set will include the old wartime favourites, so if you are willing to bring down neighbours who remember the war I am sure they will enjoy it. Please do bring a chair, as we are not able to supply them!


From the fi rst minute to the last, our arena will be buzzing with entertainment – local dance schools, bands and sporting groups will be fi lling the line up so be sure to score out the whole day in your diary, you wont want to miss a thing!


Our car show is also fi lling up fast with a range of classic, vintage and sports cars and vehicles. This year’s car sponsor is Dorset Sports Cars, and I am sure they will fi nd it very diffi cult to judge the car of the day! If you have something special you would like to display, please let us know – there is no charge for your vehicle. If pooches are more your passion, don’t forget about our Fun Dog Show. Classes will be running all day with proceeds going to Wolf Dog Rescue.


We still need more volunteers to come forward – car parking, raffl e ticket sales and general marshalls are needed from mid morning until 5pm. Please do let us know if you can spare an hour – the event simply cannot run without you! Email us on broadstonefunday@gmail.com if you can help!
