JENNIE HALE NEW CERAMICS At the Simon Drew Gallery
Foss Street Dartmouth 25th May - 12th June
Simon Drew Gallery presents an exhibition by Jennie Hale who produces birds and mammals using the raku ceramic method: every animal is the result of long and happy observation. She will also exhibit a wide range of earthenware with illustrations that she has made from life.
Jennie studied ceramics and lat-
er trained under Marrianne de Trey at Dartington before setting up her own studio in a remote, beautiful wooded valley in Devon where for more than 20 years she has been producing a fantastic body of work, incorporating raku sculptures, earthenware vessels, watercolours and a published illustrated diary: ‘The Nature Diary of an Artist’. Her recent move to Cornwall will further immerse her in

New studio and gallery A
ward-winning fused glass artist Steve Robinson has
relocated, bringing his instantly recognisable and collectable works to a new studio and gallery in South Devon. For many years Steve was based on the Welsh coast at St David’s in Pembrokeshire, but has recently moved his business and family to the South Hams where the pioneer in the use of glass enamels has opened a new studio and gallery. His new base is at Coombe Park
Craft Studios, situated in the village of Ashprington just outside Totnes. Steve has a spacious studio from where he is running glass fusing classes and workshops throughout the year to share his skills, and bookings are already being taken. Alongside the Studio is a Gallery
area, which is open to visitors all year round. Here Steve’s latest pieces will be available to purchase, or customers can make an appointment to discuss a commission. For more details see
