This is prime time for gardens to bloom and there are many local gems to be seen during May and June.
12 May, 23 June Fast Rabbit Farm, Strawberry Valley Naturist-friendly days for those who prefer to enjoy the garden in Adam & Eve fashion. The garden will be open to visitors as normal. 11am – 5pm.
13 May Bowringsleigh West Alvington, Kingsbridge Open gardens raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West. 2 – 5pm. £4. Plant sales and refreshments. Tel: 01548 852774.
13 May Totnes Open Gardens Copland Meadows, Totnes A number of back gardens will be open to the public with 70 beautiful front gardens to view as you walk along the road. There will be a nature trail as well as tea and cakes £5 per adult. All proceeds to Rowcroft Hospice. Tel: 01803 847660.
13 & 20 May, 23 & 24 June Higher Ash Farm Evolving garden sitting in 2½ acres. Includes a large kitchen garden terraced into the hillside with adjoining orchard. 2 – 5pm. £5 entry and home-made teas.
15, 16 & 17 June Bramble Torre, Dittisham 3 acre garden set in 20 acres of farmland with formal kitchen garden and thriving orchard. 2 – 6pm.
