Global music sourced locally!

As well as bringing you music from all over the UK, we ensure that a large proportion of the bands we book are from the local area. So here, in no particular order, are some of the superlative acts you can catch over the weekend:

First out of the box is The Chris Thomas Band. Local lovers of live music will know Chris well from previous musical incarnations in the Bay. Many years of writing and performing his own work culminated in the release of his first album ‘Bound to the Ocean’ in November 2017. Chris lists his influences as Simon & Garfunkel, The Eagles and John Mayer amongst others, so if you want to hear harmonious original songs played with

consummate skill then look no further. It doesn’t get more local than the outstanding Connor Everitt. A Dartmothian, his acoustic melodies and soulful voice have earned him a hefty 5,000 strong following on YouTube. His debut single has had several outings on BBC radio but if you want to be in on the ground floor of his future success, we strongly suggest you catch one of his two sets during the Dart Music Festival. Years from now you will be able to tell your friends ‘I was there at the beginning…’ 2018 sees the return of the much loved BRNC Big Band. Evoking all the sounds of the fabulous ‘swing era’, the Big Band is made up of ex-military & civilian musicians who share a passion for fabulous music. Bringing you classics from one of the greatest musical eras, it is impossible to hear these guys and not move to the music. Not to be missed if swing is your thing! If you have a hankering for gypsy jazz, then The Manouche Jazz Quartet from Brixham

will undoubtedly quench your thirst. This outstanding group of musicians captures the essence of the Hot Club de France, giving new voice to the legacy of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Bringing class and charisma to the scene, The Manouche Jazz Quartet is a new chapter in the narrative of gypsy jazz. Acoustic duo Out of The Woods are guaranteed to send a shiver up your spine with their beautiful covers and original songs. This recently formed South Hams duo combine Isobel’s voice and guitar with Paul’s guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukelele to bring you a performance that will stay with you long after the last notes die away. One to be savoured. Combining a potent mix of funk and gospel, Plymothian Louise Parker blends
