Panther in a pear tree’. The Car Rides Team added their usual amusing touch when they all turned up in matching brown warehouse coats each sporting ‘four candles’ in the pockets. Ian Loram of the Norton Owners‘ Club brought his immaculate Domiracer as a cen- trepiece, nicely displayed on staging set up by Steve Clarke. Thank you Steve. The Motorcycle Team is now planning this year’s ‘outreach’ events. The Surrey branch of the Norton Owners’ Club has invited us to take a stand next to theirs at the Ardingly Show on 27th March. OUTREACH Exceptional year
F
ollowing the brilliant 2017 Outreach season, ‘the very best year the team have ever enjoyed’, the 2018 season kicked off with the best-ever New Year’s Day result, with 60 membership signings – at one point there was a queue to join the ‘BTM family’. The team was extremely busy all day, David Norfolk went home with slatted imprints on his backside from the time he spent sitting signing new members at the Outreach welcome desk! The entire team did a brilliant job and a very big thank you deservedly goes to each and every one involved on a very busy and productive day. The Outreach team enjoyed and achieved a lot in 2017, and the new season is full of promise, hopefully continuing our upward trend. We

It would also seem that this event will not be run under ACU regulations which means that riders will not need an ACU Parade Licence. As a result we should be able to field a larger team of Brooklands riders. We have also been invited to join Brooklands
Trust Members for a track day at Castle Combe and it is certain that the Motorcycle Team will be represented... maybe even over-subscribed.

have a full and interesting calendar ahead of us, revisiting some shows and trying some new venues. The stand will be much improved with new lighting and our new 44-inch display screen will be featuring archive and up-to-date videos of the Museum.
I hope, as existing members, you will find time to come and say hello, whether we are at home in the Paddock or away at the many varied events we will be attending this year. The team are on the starting blocks and ready to sprint (stagger, limp, amble) into action once the new season gets un- derway. Thank you for your enthusiastic support in the past and hopefully that support will continue well into the future.
Proposed outreach events for 2018 These are at Brooklands unless stated.
