Special invitation for members E
ntries will soon be open for the competitive elements of the Double Twelve Motorsport Festival, but there are other ways in which Brook- lands Trust Members can become involved with the event, so please make a note of the dates in your diaries now! Traditionally held on the weekend closest to the anniversary of the opening of the Race Track in 1907, the competitions are organised in association with the Vintage Sports- Car Club and include Speed Trials, Driving Tests and a Concours d’Élégance, with entrants to two or more of these eligible for the prestigious Double Twelve trophies. Brooklands Trust Members are encouraged to enter any of the Double Twelve competitions for which they have a suitable vehicle and (for the sprint only) the appropriate competition licence.
Classes in the Concours and Driving Tests competitions cover a huge variety of age, size and type, making just about any vehicle built up until 1988 eligible. The Speed Trials form round three of the VSCC Speed Championship and take place on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit on Saturday 16th June. Over 100 mainly pre-war cars are expected to take part in a wide range of classes, along with some invited post-war historic racing cars and 1950s sports and racing cars. The Concours takes place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June and has classes as follows:
