All smiles for dentists’ acquisition
A long established Birmingham- based dental practice has been acquired by two brothers from Coventry in a funding deal supported by Barclays. Addison Dental Practice, on
Redhill Road in the city, has been bought by the Farmah brothers, Dr Rohit and Dr Karan Farmah. The practice was established in
1975 by Dr Wayne Addison. Recent major investments include the extension of two dedicated rooms for the decontamination of instruments. In addition, the practice also offers diagnostic and screening procedures and the treatment of disease, disorder and injury. With the addition of their expertise, the Farmah brothers are

Supporting women in the workplace
Audit, tax and advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill has launched a major drive to help support women in the workplace to achieve their full potential. The Women’s Empowerment
Programme (WEP) was launched at The Hawthorns, home of West Bromwich Albion FC, a central location for an event involving Crowe’s Midlands, Manchester and Cheltenham offices. Tax partner Rebecca Durrant launched the event by emphasising the importance of the programme for Crowe, its people, and its clients. Rebecca said: “We will be
looking to expand and develop the private services to include cosmetic dental treatments, facial aesthetics and implants. Dr Rohit Farmah said: “We are thrilled that we have been able to
acquire Addison Dental Practice as it has a great reputation in the local area. It has always been our dream to own a practice, so that we can offer our patients the highest standard of care.” Dr Karan Farmah added: “The support we received from Barclays
has been a key facilitator of this acquisition. The team led by Manoj Patel, have worked alongside us brilliantly to ensure that the deal was a success. Manoj was always attentive to our needs and we have established a great working relationship for the future.”
focusing on the areas where we want to make a change, specifically in flexible working, building networks, mentoring and sponsorship. “We hope this programme will
help pinpoint our future leaders and enable us to develop their skills and meet their ambitions within the firm.” The guest speaker for the
evening was Jane Kenyon, founder of Girls Out Loud, which is an
organisation that mentors teenage girls, and which Rebecca Durrant actively supports. Jane Kenyon emphasised the importance of being brave, volunteering for a project, negotiating a promotion and not being concerned about stepping outside of the comfort zone.

The event also heard from
Crowe’s chief executive, Nigel Bostock, who said: “The Women’s Empowerment Programme is an initiative that really matters to me, our people, our firm and our global network. “At Crowe we have been working
to improve the gender balance at partner level and have made good progress, however there is still more to do.”
