The Hub The Hub What’s on at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Chamber’s Western promise
Western Union Business Solutions, a leader in global payments services, announces a collaboration with the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) to drive international growth. The announcement forms part of a wider
initiative by Western Union to support businesses across the region to help them expand and trade more effectively overseas. Western Union Business Solutions has not only
become a member of exclusive 1813 club but has also backed the GBCC’s 2018 events wall and digital events planner as the headline sponsor, which will be distributed to all members and available online from January. The company will also be delivering a series of educational events,
throughout 2018. With more firms looking to cement existing
trading relationships across Europe and forge opportunities in new geographic markets post- Brexit, the campaign is also seeking to raise awareness of the importance of building robust currency strategies to mitigate risks from
international currency fluctuations and market volatility. Paul Faulkner, the GBCC’s chief executive, said:
“We are delighted that a global business such as Western Union has recognised the value in our services to help support their awareness campaign in the region.” Tony Crivelli, Global Head of FX Services at
Western Union, said: “Working together with the Chamber helps us to provide the knowledge and support that SMEs desperately need to expand internationally. We look forward to working with the members in 2018 and beyond.” Western Union Business Solutions provides
businesses with a range of solutions to the financial complexities associated with international trade, including cash management, foreign exchange risk management and international payment solutions.
