Play Sand

TOP DRESSING, SOILS, SANDS AND AGGREGATES Sand & Organic Mix

A double washed, screened and moist, BS EN 177 compliant play sand. Suitable for both children’s play pits and school athletics long jump pits, as well as the construction of beach volleyball courts, general play areas and even sand castles.

A blend of quality sports sand and green compost providing nutrient and water retention as well as promoting microbial activity in the soil. This comes as an 8 mm moist rootzone dressing option.

Tree and Shrub Planting Mix

Our tree and shrub planting mix is made up of compost, Norfolk Topsoil and potting grit. The compost aids moisture retention and provides nutrients; the grit aids drainage, and helps prevent compaction around the roots.

Compactable Tree Soil

Developed to provide both a growing medium for long term root growth and a resilient sub layer for sustained support of hard surfaces designed to pedestrian and light vehicular traffic. Provides good drainage and aeration, while offering resistance to further compaction.

LOAMS

The performance of your wicket is dependent on a number of factors i.e. the type of square construction, the machinery, equipment and resources available, the preparation and maintenance procedures, the knowledge of the groundsman and the choice of clay loam being used.

The combination of these factors will dictate the condition of your square and the performance of your pitches, however, the end result will be influenced entirely by the type of clay loam you manage, and the percentage of clay material there is in the soil profile.

"Delivered on time, exactly what I ordered, and a great price. Polite, helpful and competitive."

"Great service, swift delivery, good advice."

By undertaking a PWS soil analysis, specifically the particle size distribution (PSD), details available on page 4, we’ll give you a breakdown of the clay, silt and sand percentages in your soil. Once identified you will be in a better position to manage your square.

Once you know your clay content percentage, you can then decide on what clay loams are desirable for you. An ABBS test also known as a Motty test is a simple, reliable aid to determining the selection of clay loams for cricket.
