WROXHAM FLOWER CLUB will be holding its Christmas Meeting at The Church Hall, Wroxham, 7.30 pm on 13th December. Crystal Dyball will be demonstrating floral arrangements on the theme - “Christmas Sparkle”. Crystal’s beautiful arrangements are raffled so there is the chance of taking one home to get you in the mood for Christmas. Following the demonstration seasonal refreshments will be served. The Club does not meet in January. New members and visitors are very welcome. If you would like further information we would be happy to hear from you or just come along on the night. Please contact: Lynn Hands on 01603 722582 or Pamela Poulton on 01603 782063.
WROXHAM BURE VALLEY ROTARY CLUB Despite the poor weather our “Purple for Polio” collection to help end polio,at Roy’s at the end of October, raised £333 which when multiplied up by the contribution from the Bill Gates foundation will mean we raised £1000, so a big thank you to all who contributed! International Polio day was also marked by Norwich Castle and Norwich City Hall being lit up in purple for the evening of 24th
October.
The club has also planted more purple crocuses this autumn to further raise awareness in Wroxham, Hoveton and Horning. Progress continues to be made and we are getting very close to finally eradicating this terrible disease across the world. We have also been busy polishing up Santa’s sleigh ready for our Christmas collections in December – in fact we have rebuilt it as we have a new permanent trailer for it. Once again we are delighted Santa has promised to come and join us and help us out – look out for us in Sprowston, Spixworth, Blofield, Stalham and other locations in December! With the exception of two schools still to be arranged we have completed the handing out of Usborne Dictionaries to all year 6 primary school children in feeder schools attached to Broadland High School. These dictionaries now form part of the curriculum and this community support is an important role played by your local Rotary Club. We are also running a project with Broadland school students who are setting up a fruit and vegetable production and sales operation. So far we have constructed 5 large vegetable frames and filled them with 24 tonnes of topsoil. We are always pleased to welcome more new members into the club - you can pop along and meet us any Monday evening if you fancy finding out a bit more about us and what we get up to, but please contact our secretary Anne Kittle in advance on 07887523071 to check the meeting details and so we can ensure we have food for you. Visit our web-site on

www.facebook.com/wroxhamburevalleyrotaryclub or contact our president, Joyce Plant on 01692 630152. There is no better way to give something back to the local community...and no better time than now.
