New office in Derby is the Next Step for HR company

A human resources company, recently named one of the top 100 small businesses in the UK, is opening a new office in Derby, creating four new jobs. Next Steps HR is the brainchild

of businesswoman Neena Sharma, who has worked as an HR director for leading brands including John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, PKF Cooper Parry, Lloyds Banking Group and Siemens. She had responsibility for

companies with more than 3,000 staff and a role which saw her travel all over Europe, the US and the Middle East. Now she is using her skills and

experience to offer HR, recruitment, training and mediation services to support small to medium-sized businesses that don’t have the need for a dedicated HR department but still require vital HR support. The company has been operating from offices in Strelley Hall,

Nottinghamshire, and has now opened a second branch at Oberoi Business Hub, on Pride Park, Derby. Neena has recruited a team of

nine fellow professionals she has worked with throughout her career and the company has been named in the Guardian’s Small Biz 100 list. She said: “Next Steps HR enables

me to use the experience, versatility and knowledge I’ve gained in my career to benefit a range of businesses – large and small – from all sectors. “Our clients are not tied into a

contract with us, they can use us as and when they require. We’re not a call centre, we meet people face to face and companies have their own dedicated point of contact so they don’t have to explain themselves again and again. “We work with companies in

developing their people, simplifying employment legislation and keeping them up to date and compliant, which in turn enables them to get

on and take care of business. “Success relies on people; they

are the single largest cost for any employer, but ensuring they remain your single largest asset can be a challenge. You can have the best product, the best idea, the best service but unless you develop, grow and look after your people

Top marks for internet security

Commercial property agency Innes England has been recognised for its commitment to preventing cyber attacks. The East Midlands firm – which has offices in

Nottingham, Leicester and Derby – has achieved national Cyber Essentials accreditation. The industry- and Government-recognised certification

scheme helps businesses minimise the risk of a cyber attack and demonstrates they are taking the measures

needed to protect themselves and their client data. To secure the certification, Innes England was

measured against five key controls that, when implemented correctly, can prevent around 80% of cyber attacks. Tim Garratt, Managing Director at Innes England, said:

“I am really proud Innes England has been recognised for our commitment to our customers’ confidentiality by being awarded the Cyber Essentials accreditation.”

your business could fail. “Most of us live locally, so we

understand the local economy, geography and demographics which is really important. Pride Park is the premium business centre in the Midlands, so it made absolute sense to position Next Steps HR here.”

HSE recommendations and COSHH regulations state that employers have a duty of care to look after their workforce. Our new mobile Filter Station is the perfect solution to help protect employees against inhaling dusts and fumes in the workplace. The Carter Filter Station extracts different types of dusts and fumes by using a range of interchangeable panel filter elements.
