54 business network November 2017 FOCUS ON: ADDED VALUE FROM THE CHAMBER

The Chamber offers a wide range of training programmes which can help your business to train and retain the best talent. The Chamber is the largest

business representation organisation in the region, with a training satisfaction rating among past delegates of 98%. Our members receive a discount

on the full cost of our courses as a benefit of membership. There is also a variety of funding streams from external sources available to many businesses within the region depending on their location and area of work. This can significantly reduce the cost of training and could add skills to your workforce which could save thousands of pounds in the long term. The Chamber’s experienced staff

and training specialists are able to guide members to find out what funding could be available and can guide you through the application process.

‘A great opportunity to have an expert come into your company and see how you are currently working’

Many companies choose to

design their own course to support their sales staff. Our trainer will come along to your company and have a discussion with you about what you are hoping to achieve from undertaking this training and making this commitment to your staff members. It’s a great opportunity to have an

expert come into your company and see how you are currently working

A cohort from a recent Director Development Programme

and how you could work even better, making the most of each contact, driving business forward and achieving the growth that will make your business successful. Over the past year, we have

engaged with over 100 companies to deliver bespoke training alone, working closely with the individuals and organisations concerned to deliver tailored, high quality options depending on the delegates’ unique set of circumstances and goals. Twenty per cent of these

companies undertook sales training in 2017 and are now achieving greater levels of business via a sales team which has sight of the vision for their business growth and are motivated to support this growth.

To find out what funding could be available to your business and to discuss bespoke options or open course opportunities, please contact business.training@emc-dnl.co.uk

COMING UP: *SELLING FOR NON-SALES PEOPLE

There are many instances when a ‘sales support person’, usually involved in the implementation or delivery of a product or service, can have significant influence on the level of present and future business from that client. In fact non-sales people probably generate more trust and future business in just these situations.

The time to promote added

value services and products is at the point when the client has just had a successful installation or completion of one project or is talking with a ‘technical’ person they feel they trust. Your support people also need to understand the influencers involved. They have easier access to the ‘insider’

information the sales approach needs, and need the commercial skills to ask the right questions to gain further business opportunities and close them or feed them to their colleagues. This course will identify, discuss

and practice simple methods to identify the client motivations in buying a given product or service.
