Serious partnership for Talk Staff Recruitment


Talk Staff Recruitment and technology start-up Serious Sport Technologies (SST) have entered into a business partnership to recruit an entire web development team at its Derby office, on Pride Park.


Since 2014, SST has been


extensively researching technologies in the sporting industry and is now looking to develop something truly world- changing, unique and exciting. Talk Staff Group has already


been working with SST for many months following meetings to collaborate on the company’s vision and overall people strategy. SST is looking to become a


major employer within the next five years, focusing on developing and bringing existing technologies together to provide a suite of extensive tools, applications and hardware technologies, which will be used around the world. Initially, Talk Staff Recruitment is set to

work on the campaign for its nine- strong development team. Sales and Marketing Director for

Tigers’ global partner


Leicester Tigers has announced Dendermonde Rugby Club, which plays its rugby in in the Belgian Elite League, as its latest global partner. As part of the Tigers’ global partnership plan to


help shape global grassroots rugby and build the Tigers’ brand around the world, Dendermonde will now play an active role in driving the game’s development. Scott Clarke, Head of Community and Global Partnerships at

Mitre Group joins as Chamber patron’s safety partner


Derby County Football Club has announced Mitre Group as its Stadium Safety Partner for the 2017/18 season. Mitre Group, based in Derbyshire,


is a training provider with a specialism as sports, stadia and safety training experts and its relationship with the Rams sees it providing training, qualifications and support for all of the club’s stewards on a matchday at Pride Park Stadium. Acquisition of Kingfisher Lighting complete


Kingfisher Lighting has been acquired by Luceco, a manufacturer and distributor of LED lighting, wiring accessories and portable power products. In what has been a great deal for


the retiring founder and Chairman of Kingfisher Lighting, John Harding, Luceco announced it has acquired the entire issued share capital of Kingfisher Lighting for a total cash consideration of £9.75m on a cash-free, debt-free basis. The management team of


Kingfisher Lighting will remain with the company and work with Luceco's management team to integrate and grow the business.

The acquisition has been funded


through the Group’s existing banking facilities. Kingfisher Lighting is a


nationwide UK supplier of exterior lighting products, including LED products, high-mast and street lighting systems and controls, as well as a provider of installation and maintenance services. The Cooper Parry Corporate


Finance team, which advised on the deal, was led by Corporate Finance Director, Sally Saunders, who said: “We’ve worked with Kingfisher Lighting for a number of years and wish the business all the very best with its future growth plans.”
