BCC recognition for Business Awards winners

Following their success in the Chamber’s 2017 Business Awards, two members have gone on to win regional awards from the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC). R.E.A.L Education, which re- engages children and young people with learning, has won the Education and Business Partnership Award for the BCC East Midlands region. The Mansfield-based company

operates across, and has centres in, both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and won the Education and Business Partnership Award at the Chamber’s Derbyshire Business Awards on 8 September. Retford-based iCON Aerospace

Technology won the Chamber’s Nottinghamshire Business Awards Outstanding Growth Award on 15 September and from that success has now scooped the BCC East Midlands regional High Growth Business of the Year Award. iCON Aerospace Technology is a

world-leader in highly-engineered products utilising polymers used in sealing, containment, propulsion and protection systems worldwide. Their success means both firms

are finalists in the BCC national awards, the winners of which will be announced at a gala dinner at The Brewery, London, on 30 November. Both companies will be guests of the Chamber at the awards dinner. Both were also invited to attend

the annual general meeting of the Chamber, at Horsley Lodge, Derby, on 2 November, to receive certificates commemorating their regional success. Scott Knowles, Chief Executive at

the Chamber, said: “Congratulations to both iCON Aerospace Technology and R.E.A.L Education for going on to achieve further success in the BCC’s regional awards. “The Chamber awards are the

best of luck as they go on to represent the East Midlands at the national awards.” Announcing the regional

winners, Francis Martin, President of the British Chambers of Commerce, said: “Our judges are always impressed by the high

standard of submissions. The finalists in the Chamber Business Awards represent the best of this country’s entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and hard work. “The awards are the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate business achievements, to take stock of the outstanding performances of UK businesses over the past year and to encourage and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
