During the summer holidays, 45 Guides and Senior Section Members and nine Leaders, from Girlguiding Broadstone & Creekmoor, Upton and Hamworthy Districts, came together for a fi ve-night camp at Foxlease Activity Centre, in the heart of the New Forest.

Having arrived, pitched camp, made new friends and got to know our surroundings, we embarked on a jam-packed week of activities around the theme of Water, Air and Fire. Little did we know that the theme would be so apt as the week presented us with some challenging weather conditions – in particular, high winds and driving rain, which on the last night of camp saw the loss of two gazebos and two tents!

The girls took part in a variety of activities including archery, raft building and working together to reach new heights on the crate stacking challenge. Particular favourites in outdoor cooking were pizza in a pan and a ‘boil in a bag’ cake! Both of which turned out to be very tasty indeed! Tie-dying, candle making, pyrography and fi red ink art were also enjoyed.
