Broadstone Middle School, Age 9-13 Out with the old and in with the new!
The fi rst day of a new school year is a great chance to start afresh: revitalised faces and new uniforms. In our case, with the introduction of a brand new uniform, pupils at Broadstone Middle School looked particularly smart as they arrived at school on Wednesday
6th September! New school colours (navy blue jumpers, crisp white shirts and grey trousers or pleated blue check skirts) and a fresh new logo has given the pupils a lift. Those brand new to the school are
expected to wear the new uniform, but those who
have been with the school last year are only expected to change to the
new uniform as and when they require replacement items.
The upside to changing to a new uniform has been the organisation of an old uniform collection, old jumpers, shirts and skirts/trousers which are going to be donated to The National Police Aid Convoys. The charity will send our old uniform to schools in Zambia who desperately need it. Old exercise and text books no longer relevant for learning have also been boxed ready to aid those in African countries who have little or no resources to support learning. This has been brilliantly organised by one of our parents with the support of our fabulous parents association ‘The Social Hub’, who were madly folding and packing clothes up in the last few days of the summer term.
We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning at BMS and will keep you posted on our developments and celebrations of learning.

Do you need somewhere to hold an event or sporting activity outside of school hours or at the weekend?
Broadstone First and Broadstone Middle School, part of The Castleman Academy Trust, have the following facilities available at competitive rates:
• A large hall, available at both sites, one of which has adjoining kitchen facilities
• Floodlit multi-use games area, with markings for netball and tennis
• A large sports fi eld, with markings for football and one pitch for Under 12s rugby
• Changing facilities • Parking
