NEW CHALLENGE FOR SID ANVERALI


CLS Offshore’s Financial Director Sid Anverali is moving on to take up a new challenge as Commercial Manager, offshore wind, for SSE (Scottish & Southern Energy).


AMICABLE AGREEMENT The move was announced recently by Scott McMillan, Managing Director of Great Yarmouth-based energy sector services company CLS, who said it had been amicably agreed.


“Sid goes with our very best wishes and appreciation of his excellent work here over the past four and a half years and for the tremendous support he has given the company and me personally,” he added.


COMMERCIAL INTEREST “More recently he has become more involved in the commercial side of our business, as well as finance, and that is something Sid wants to progress so the SSE role is an ideal opportunity.”


MODUS SECURE EDF CONTRACT


Modus Seabed Intervention, one of North East England’s leading subsea specialist contractors, has secured a major contract on EDF Energy Renewables prestigious Teesside Offshore Wind Farm.


Main contractor Van Oord’s appointment of Darlington-based Modus, to provide trenching and survey services on this high profile North Sea project, is an acknowledgement of the region’s strong supply chain and of the firm’s position as a leading specialist in the growing wind farm industry.


NORSTEC AND ENERGI COAST In April, Prime Minister David Cameron named Modus as one of the first members of Norstec, a new industry partnership aimed at maximising the North Sea market. Modus is also on the Steering Group of North East England’s Renewables Group, Energi Coast, which promotes the capabilities of the region’s integrated supply chain.


The project will see the company conduct trenching services to bury 26 inter array cables, as well as survey work before and after the trenching. An offshore team of 16

Mr Anverali said: “I’ve enjoyed my time at CLS and wish them every success for the future and I’m now looking forward to an exciting new challenge with SSE.”


He will be based at Lowestoft from where SSE is operating the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm.

personnel will be involved in the month- long trenching campaign, which started recently and was mobilised out of Modus’ facility on the banks of the River Tees.


WIND FARM CONTRACT SPECIALIST The project is Modus’ ninth wind farm contract as it continues to affirm its position as a specialist provider in the sector and work has already begun on the pre- trenching surveys.
