Celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style with The Royal Horseguards.
Guoman’s The Royal Horseguards is beautifully situated on the Embankment overlooking the Thames. The hotel has been running for over 100 years, and has been given Grade I listed status. Following a £16million refurbishment, the hotel is one of London’s most luxurious 5 Star hotels and the latest addition to the Guoman Hotel’s collection.
The hotel consists of 281 bedrooms, including opulent suites with magnificent views over the Thames. Each bedroom has sumptuous soft furnishings, including Egyptian cotton bed linen, 32‐inch satellite plasma TV and an LCD TV in the bathroom and iPod docking stations with surround sound to play any of your favourite music during your stay.
The hotel has it’s own wonderful restaurant, the AA Rosette award‐winning One Twenty One Two, which serves gourmet dishes inspired by flavours from around the world. As well as the main restaurant, the hotel also has a welcoming lounge where afternoon tea, lunch and drinks are available, and an outdoor terrace. This is the perfect spot for alfresco dining, a quiet drink, or even a summer barbecue now that the weather should be warming up. Given its situation in the heart of London and overlooking the Thames, The Royal

Horseguards was a perfect location for celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee, and the hotel even held a special Jubilee Afternoon Tea to get visitors into the true British spirit. The tea was presented in the hotel’s elegant lounge or intimate outdoor terrace with views of the iconic London Eye. Resident head pastry chef Joanne Todd designed the exclusive ode to HM The Queen’s 60 years on the throne, which included finger sandwiches, decadent desserts and, of course, freshly baked scones with English jam and Cornish clotted cream.
The Royal Horseguards is a perfect setting for an exciting weekend in the city. Just a short walk to Covent Garden, The Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, guests will never be short of activities. With the Olympics just around the corner, the hotel is putting on a brand new ‘SporTea’ Afternoon Tea, so if you liked the sound of the Jubilee menu then I’d definitely suggest a trip to The Royal Horseguards at some point over the summer.
