A1 Retail Parties with Mad About Design!

Here at A1 Retail we were delighted to spend an evening with the Mad About Design team during their summer drinks, which took place at the Vista Bar at the Trafalgar Hotel last month. Situated on the rooftop of the hotel, views from the Vista Bar were incredible, and paired with great food and even better company we had a wonderful time. We were very pleased to be invited to celebrate Mad About Design’s success at the event this year, and we look forward to receiving our invites for next year’s party!

Balloons Make an Impact for Topshop and Natalie Saunders

Last month Topshop’s flagship store in Oxford Street, London, hosted a Jubilee inspired ‘Fashion Spectacular’ with designer Meadham Kirchoff. Some 3,000 pastel‐coloured Qualatex balloons decorated more than two floors to bring extra glamour and sparkle to the celebration. This eye‐catching balloon décor was the creative work of Natalie Saunders who was asked to replicate a

similar design to the one she created for Meadham Kirchhoff’s S/S 2012 show at London Fashion Week last year.

Kirchhoff’s fashion show last year was a huge privilege and an exciting challenge, so I was naturally thrilled when they wanted me to bring the same designs into Topshop for this amazing event. Hundreds of fashion devotees turned out for the event and lined the Oxford Street pavements to get a look inside,” said Natalie.

Natalie, together with two other balloon artists and three assistants, worked through the night to create multiple balloon arches and columns up to 9 metres long. Four giant balloon

columns filled Topshop’s huge windows, while arches of balloons hung across the ceiling and shop floor.

Shopkit Group’s Announces Online Shop Launch

UK design and manufacturing company Shopkit has re‐vamped and re‐launched their already successful online shop this month.

The completely new e‐shop showcases all of their standard display, shelving and signage products and includes ‘ready to

order kits’ and acrylics all available with overnight delivery options. Shopkit Company Director, David Turner, said that “Our existing online shop had been working well, but as we wanted to add some new products, a multi‐language facility, an ability to pay in euros and make more worldwide shipping options available developing the new online shop seemed the natural progression for my business. We are very happy with the new version, which is easy to use, looks much brighter and fresher than the old shop and we have already had some positive feedback from existing clients and customers new to the site.”

You can visit the new shop on shop.shopkit.com
