will be turning 100 years old. This is a major accomplishment for a business that has spread to all continents of the world. This will be affecting our next design introductions as we balance mature and emerging cultures, new technology in printing, and a global understanding of how humans interact with the internet to learn about our products.
Technology makes my life a lot easier.
are constantly sharing ideas and observations of the many international exhibits for the architecture and design market. I capture this information into a general world view of trends as it relates to furniture and interiors, place it on my iPad and off I go, ready to talk about global inspirations that we are using to shape our future Formica products and hopefully to inspire our customers in their own design work.

Whether I'm sending new design ideas to my colleagues in Europe, or capturing a "wow" moment at a show, technology ensures that we're always on the same page. With all this travel, I also depend on technology to keep in touch. Due to my round the world responsibilities, when I don't travel my day starts with video communications meetings at 6am and then 8pm to keep in real time contact with Asia to Australia. Working with Europe is easy!
I'm often at a show for a short period of
time, and my time in Chicago proved no different. After just four hours of scouting out new trends, speaking with other manufacturers and meeting up with key people, I'm off to the airport to catch a 20‐hour overnight flight to New Zealand. Landing at 6am, I rush to the hotel before heading to executive meetings that start at noon.
After our executive meetings I will go out with my colleagues for dinner then head back to my hotel and again catch up on emails from North America and Europe. My phone was off during the meetings and now I have a lot of people chasing me with different requests.
Now it's 4am and I am jet lagged! An email just popped up from Europe, I'll deal with it now...
