She was born January 5, 1954, in Easton, PA, a daughter of Basil and Dorothy Straka Borota, of Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Joseph J. Kisner. Kathleen retired in 2008 from Prince William School District, Prince William County, VA, where she was a 6th grade teacher at the Woodbridge Middle School. Previously she taught in the Prince George County School District,MDand Phillipsburg Area School District, NJ, where she was a speech therapist. She received a B.S. degree from East Stroudsburg University and a M.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In addition to her parents she is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Borota Sharpless and her husband Dr. Richard E. Mrs. Davis was credit manager for Lubrications Engineers, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, during its first ten years in business. She began composing music and arranging hymns for church choice in the 60's, publishing many through Crescendo Music and Word Music. In the 70's, she formed her own business, Impact Music,publishing her own compositions as well as those of others. During this time, she wrote and produced numerous pageants, plays and programs for church and college performance.
After the death of her husband in 1997, Mrs. Davis moved to Falls Church,VA, to be nearer to her only child. Mrs. Davis became a member of Columbia Baptist Church where she taught a ladies' Bible class for several years.
MARGARET ELLEN DAVIS (Scruggs) (Age 82)
Of Falls Church, VA, a retired business woman and musician, passed away on September 14, 2010 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA. She courageously battled leukemia and heart disease. Mrs. Davis was born in Athens, TX on November 12, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Roland L. and Lela Waddell Scruggs. Mrs. Davis later moved to Fort Worth, TX, where she met her late husband, G. Fred Davis, while both were attending Bible Baptist Seminary. Mrs. Davis was married to G. Fred Davis for 49 years until his death in May 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Dixie Davis Berman and her husband, Richard Berman of McLean,VA; a sister, Lila Carlton and her husband, Max Carlton of Bedford, TX; three grandsons, Ashley Huey, III and wife, Sara Huey of Garland, TX,Russ Huey of Arlington, VA and Seth Berman and wife, Kate Berman of Fairfax,VA; a step-daughter, Carolyn Berman Bruan and her husband, Conrad Bruan of Naples, FL; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Huey of Garland, TX; many other relatives and friends.

Of Chicago, IL, was killed on September 11, 2010, in an accident in Istanbul, Turkey. While walking through a park with her aunt and uncle, a tree fell on her and her aunt. Rhonda was killed instantly and her aunt was temporarily hospitalized, but has since been released.
Rhonda was born on February 18, 1979, in Atlanta, GA. She is predeceased by her father, Dr. Adnan A. Saad. She is survived by her loving mother, Andrea L. Saad of Fairfax Station, VA; her sister, Dina Saad Lewin, her brother-in-law, Mark Gustav Lewin, and their children, Anthony Adnan Lewin and Natalie Hope Lewin, of Arlington, VA; a sister, Laura Adnan Saad, currently residing at home in Fairfax Station, VA; and a brother, Tarek Adnan Saad, of La Jolla, CA.

On June 7, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Pete Hedges was 76 years old. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hedges; sons, David Hedges and John Hedges; daughter, Christine Baron and his six grandchildren. Pete was born in Wyoming and entered the US Army after graduating from the University of Wyoming. While serving in the US ARMY, Pete earned his Master’s degree from the American University. Pete retired from the US Army after a distin- guished career of 29 years and later worked 16 years at Computer Sciences Corporation prior to officially retiring in 2002. Pete will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on September 23, 2010. There will be a funeral service at the Old Post Chapel at Ft. Myer at 10:45 a.m. followed by a burial with Full Military Honors.

Jones gained great pleasure from growing these businesses with his family and friends, and was honored on multiple occasions by his local chambers of commerce and the business community at large.
CHARLES ROY JONES
Died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 due to complications from pancreatitis. He was 79.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1931 to David Charles Jones and Dorothy Mae Butler Wrigley, he had two brothers, David Charles Jones, Jr. and John Godfrey Jones (all deceased). He was raised in the Philadelphia and Buffalo areas. From an early age – and throughout his life – he enjoyed singing and playing music; his favorite instruments were the clarinet and the saxophone.
Jones entered the U.S. Army and became a pilot upon graduation from Bowling Green State University, where he met his future wife, Marilyn Jane Ross. The two were married in 1953. He served in the Army for more than 20 years, including two tours in Viet Nam, achieving the rank of Lt Colonel before retirement in 1974. Though he flew several different types of aircraft during his career and after, he spent much of his time behind the controls of a Chinook helicopter.He also loved to fly Bell-47s, Caribous and King Airs. The family moved 25 times during their military years, finally settling in Springfield, Va. Additionally, they frequently vacationed at the family's cabin in
He was active in two churches, Bull Run Unitarian Universalist Church and Accotink Unitarian Uni- versalist Church, of which he was a founding member. For several years he taught business management at Northern Virginia Community Col- lege and English as a second language to new Americans. He was also a dedicated mentor and civic activist, campaigning for immigration rights, GLBT rights and the right for equality in marriage. A liberal man, Jones was a supporter of democratic candidates and progressive government. His love for animals – and most recently his dog Jaylene – was central in his life.
Jones was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Jane Jones, in 1994. He remarried in 2000 and is survived by his wife, Marilyn “Rosie” Petersen Jones. He is also survived by his four children, Jennifer Jones Glushefski, John Jones, Julie Jones Gregorowicz, and Jody Jones; as well as sons-in-law, Ed Glushefski and Ed Gregorowicz; daughters-in-law, Gail Yeager Jones and Kathy Grisaffe Jones; step-son, Jason MacCabe, 12 grandsons and granddaughters, his brother, David's sons and daughters, and cousin, Ellen Leslie and her daughters and extended family. To his children and grandchildren he left an exemplary and lasting legacy of love and support that will be treasured forever.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be heldWednesday, September 22 at 2 p.m. at Bull Run Unitarian Universalist Church. Rhonda graduated fromHayfield Secondary School in 1997 and from The University of Virginia in 2001, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Art History. Since graduating from Tufts University in Boston, with a master’s degree in Art History, Rhonda had been a doctoral candidate in Art History at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She had just completed her second summer of study and research in Ramallah, Palestine, and Jerusalem, Israel, and was preparing to start her dissertation. In addition to her academic endeavors, Rhonda served as treasurer for the Association of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab World, a contributor to Arab Studies Journal, and a teaching assistant in the Art History Department at Northwestern University.
The celebration of Rhonda’s life will take place on September 21, 2010, at the Demaine Funeral Home, Backlick Road, Springfield, VA. Services will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, and everyone is welcome to attend. She will be buried at 2 p.m. the same day, at the Maryland National Memorial Park,Laurel, MD. After the graveside ceremony, family and friends are invited to a Gathering in Rhonda’s honor at the Crosspointe Community Center, Glen Eagles Dr., Fairfax Station, VA.

Passed away September 9, 2010 at his home in Heritage Harbour, Annapolis, MD. Born in Reigate, Surrey, England in 1922, he graduated from Sandhurst Military Acade- my, was commissioned a Lieutenant and served in the North Africa and Monte Casi- no Campaigns during WWII with the East Surrey Regiment. He retired as a Major at the end of the war and pursued his love of the land and farmed in England, Canada and the United States where he became a citizen in 1959. A second career lead from Ohio to theWashington, DC area where he enjoyed a long tenure with the Library of Congress. He established and directed the Public Relations Tour Program until he retired in 1987. He greatly enjoyed his retirement years as an avid gardener, sailor, “jack of all trades, potter and was the consummate host to this family and many friends. He was often seen about Annapolis in his red MGB-GT. He had a love for people, was always quick with a joke or story, had a warm mischievous smile and twinkle in his eye. He joins his beloved wife of 50+ years, Eleanor Virginia Gants Willson, who predeceased him in 2005. He is survived by an only son Christopher Brian Willson; devoted daugh- ter-in-law Linda Redmon Willson both of Lexington, KY, and two grandsons,Whitman Cyril Willson and Charles Montgomery Will- son, residing in Colorado. On Thursday, September 16, 2010 passed away at Virginia Hospital Center. Wally was the devoted father of Theresa Ann Ainsworth, Jackie Cooper and James Allen Young. Brother of Walter and Joe Young of Centralia, Mo. Son of Lula and Heitz Young. Wally was survived by his wife Ruth Young, her children Danny Chauncey, Donny Chauncey and Lesley Chauncey. Wally was born in Missouri, moved to Northern Virginia area to serve in the United States Air Force, before joining and retiring from the U.S. Postal Service. Wally is sur- vived by his seven grandchildren, he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and close friends. A resident of Grasonville, MD and Jupiter, FL entered into eternal rest at the Hospice of Queen Anne's on September 15, 2010. Born in Iowa on July 13, 1937, she was the daughter of Luke and Onema Leighton. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Colonel Robert Seh, USAF (Ret.); her adoring children, Robert M. Seh, Stephen Seh (Doris), Monica Seh, Lisa Pritt (Kevin) and Tim Seh. Predeceased by sons, Thom and Joe Seh. Grandmother of the most delightful grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashley, Beau, Kaylee, Stephen, Patrick, Sadye Mae and Nathan. Sandy attended Roosevelt High School, Des Moines, IA, Lindenwood College, St. Charles, MO and graduated from Univer- sity of Nebraska Omaha with a bache- lor's degree. She held positions in Library Research at Anser and Mitre Corp. and Admissions at George Mason University. Her most fondest memories are family vacations at Mattituck, NY, sailing Raven of the Chesapeake and down the Inter- coastal, river trips in Europe, ballet at the Kravis Center, Cardinals spring training in Jupiter and theater trips to NewYork City. As the mother of seven children, she maintained a life of love and laughter through the best of times and the worst of times. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched in her early days in Fort Dodge and Des Moines; the many Air Force friendships over 26 years, and finally during retirement in Oyster Cove and Bella Vista.
