Sunday Brunch: I have a college roommate com- ing into town, and I want to take her to a re- ally nice but not overly expensive brunch in the Georgetown area. Any sug- gestions? JustIn Rude: How about the brunch at Leopold’s? the restaurant doesn’t do every- thing perfectly, but its breakfast is close. And its tucked-away location adds a nice european charm.

GAROTAS SUECAS PHOTOGRAPH BY MANOELA MIKLOS; ARCIMBOLDO’S “HEAD WITH FRUIT BASKET,” COURTESY OF FRENCH & COMPANY, NEW YORK; IMAGE FROM “PRIMARY” COURTESY OF DREW ASSOCIATES
Robert Drew has been called the father of the American cinema verite, or “direct cinema,” movement, which employs a spontaneous, intimate filmmaking style. His “Primary” — now celebrating its 50th anniversary — about the 1960 Democratic election in Wisconsin, has been hailed as a seminal example of political filmmaking. Audiences will have a rare opportunity to see Drew, 89, in person at the American Film Institute. In addition to “Primary,” he will screen and discuss two other historical films. // 6 p.m. Sunday. AFI’s Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, 8633 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring. 301- 495-6720.
