A place to call home When Stockett first engaged with Patterson a few years back, it was at Guiding Practice Success (GPS) in Houston, Texas. That experience, along with his own expertise, gave him a solid base of knowledge on which he could rely in building a space from the ground up.
And when he’d secured his location and engaged with Patterson to design the practice to his ambitious specifications, things really started to get exciting. But then, as quickly as the momentum had built, it dissipated. The building owner pulled the plug.
“I found a spot I thought I was going to be building in – a corner unit next to another vacant space – but before we signed any lease paperwork, the landlord ended up leasing both spots to another group,” he said. “It was a bit of a bummer, and we had to start from scratch after that.”
Patterson Territory Representative Chris Fuson, who worked with Stockett on the project from start to finish, remembered the snag quite well.
“It was understandably a bit of a letdown, but I think the space he found after that was a better match for his needs,” Fuson said.
That wasn’t the end of it, either. Seemingly endless permit battles with the city pushed the build-out back further. Stockett admits he didn’t see any of it coming. But despite what turned out to be a six-month detour, County Line Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in midwinter, and has been busy ever since.
The right fit When you walk into County Line, you’re greeted by a warm reception area that’s flanked by a pair of hallways. One is client-facing – it leads to a trio of exam rooms. The other is hidden from customer view and allows technicians access from the opposite side. That
