Cenergy FAQs: Calming Your Concerns, Answering Your Questions


On Feb. 1, 2015, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative and Central Rural Electric Cooperative began operating under a shared management agreement by Cenergy LLC. The fol- lowing are some questions and answers that will help you understand more about Cenergy LLC and the relationship between CVEC and CREC.

A Why is Cenergy LLC needed?


Cenergy LLC was needed to allow CVEC and CREC to operate under the same management structure.


Will CVEC and CREC cease to exist?


No, CVEC and CREC will exist until the mem- berships vote for the consolidation to occur.


Will the consolidation vote still happen? Yes, both the CVEC and CREC boards signed a resolution on Nov. 5 declaring their commitment to share services and to submit a consolidation vote to both memberships.

What are the benefits to this arrangement?


Under the shared management agreement, employees for CVEC and CREC are allowed to do work for either cooperative. This collab- oration among employees will be a catalyst for efficiency as the two organizations are able to work as one and begin sharing services.


What is the Empowered newsletter?


The Empowered newsletter is a joint newsletter distributed to both CVEC and CREC members, and will replace CREC’s REsource. It will be published quarterly as an insert in Oklahoma Living and provide an avenue for reaching CVEC and CREC memberships with important information that concerns both memberships.
