CONGRATULATIONS RETIREES


Pat Higgins began her coopera ve career on January 19, 1989. She fi lled an important customer service need for the subsidiary’s burgeoning satellite business and spend the next 26 years assis ng REC members as a member services representa ve. Offi ce Services Manager Susanne Frost knows Pat’s shoes will be hard to fi ll, “She took wonderful care of our members and made many friendships over the phone. Our members will miss her as much as we will.”


Higgins said “working with the public” and “making life me friends with my colleagues” were just two of the things she enjoyed most about her  me with the coopera ve. Also, “being part of the accomplishments achieved by the co-op.”


She added: “I made lots of great memories.”


As for making future memories, Higgins, a Miami resident, says she will do some traveling and will spend all the  me she can with her two sons and their families, including three combined grandchildren (with another grandson due in April).


Connie Fowlkes’ joined the coopera ve as cashier at the Grove offi ce on January 23, 2000. She would later fi nish her nearly 15-year career in the billing/collec ons department.


“I worked with some good people and developed some good friendships that I will take with me,” Fowlkes said, adding that she “enjoyed all the benefi ts the co-op has off ered me.”


What ac vi es will she pursue following the end of her service? “There are lots of things I want to do, but I really just want to enjoy re rement,” she said. Fowlkes and husband Rusty live near Bernice. They have one daughter and two grandchildren.
