Swank also served as


president of a technology firm in the Kansas City area.


Swank serves on the boards of the OSU Center for Innovation and Economic Development and Stillwa- ter Cares. Past appointments include Chairman of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Swank and wife Renee have two daughters, Brittany and Caroline.


David Swank CVEC’s New CEO


The Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees named David Swank as Chief Executive Of- ficer effective Feb. 1, 2015. Swank replaces George Hand who retired Jan. 31, 2015.


“David Swank provides superior leadership as a proven and success- ful co-op manager,” said Yates Ad- cock, President of the CVEC Board of Trustees. “We are blessed to name David as CVEC’s CEO, and have utmost confidence in his ability to position the members of CVEC for a secure and strong energy future.” Swank has more than two decades experience in the electric cooperative sector. In 2005, Swank was named CEO of Central Rural Electric Co- operative in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and will continue that role moving forward.

CVEC, CREC Announce New Newsletter


Canadian Valley Electric Coop- erative and Central Rural Electric Cooperative will begin publishing a newsletter for the combined membership beginning in March. The new newsletter titled Empow- ered will be inserted in Oklahoma Living magazine. The newsletter will be published quarterly and will provide members with important information about shared services and the potential consolidation.

As I introduce myself here at Canadian Valley, I first want to say that I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve you along with the entire board and team at CVEC. I have enjoyed the chance to meet many of you at member meetings and various events and engage about the future of your cooperative. Working for the cooperative and serving the member-owners is both a privi- lege and honor.
