Storm Shelter Program Includes Safe Rooms
Taking shelter from storms under the ground or above ground is a matter of personal preference. Either way, CEC storm shelter loan program has got you covered.
Jennifer Boling, coordinator of the storm shelter loan program, said CEC now offers financing and installation services for concrete safe rooms, in addition to in-ground options.
Safe rooms are available in concrete or steel with sizes ranging from 4 ft. by 8 ft, to 8 ft. by 8 ft. Prices vary from $4,575 to $5,525, with financing up to six years at six percent interest.
After Hours Answering Service Cuts Costs
Choctaw Electric Cooperative recently transitioned to a new service that will dispatch and answer calls after hours, on weekends and during holidays.
The distribution dispatch service employs 17 dispatchers and is well equipped to handle small and large outages. The company works with 25 rural co-ops across Oklahoma and has 25 years of experience.
Members who call after hours will dial the same CEC phone numbers, 800-780-6486, 580-326-6486, 580-286-7155, or 580-298-3201, and a real person will assist them.
Outages can also be reported online using SmartHub at www.
choctawelectric.coop.
Members who wish to pay by phone after hours should know the after hours answering service is not equipped to take payments. To make a payment after hours, please use the automated pay-by-phone system at 800-780-6486, ext. 105, or pay online using SmartHub.
Are You On Life Support? Please Let CEC Know.
If you rely on electricity to power life support equipment such as a respirator or kidney dialysis machine, be sure to fill out a CEC life support dependent member form.
CEC maintains a record of all life support dependent members so the co-op can notify them of scheduled outages in their area. Life-support-dependent members should be prepared with battery backup or some other source of alternate power during any outage event.

Bill Payment Options
There’s more than one way to pay your electric bill
Choctaw Electric Cooperative (CEC) provides several convenient bill payment options and payment plans.
Pay online at
www.choctawelectric.coop. Using our SmartHub service portal you can also view your account history, check your account balance, energy usage and more.
Budget Billing. With this option your energy usage is averaged over 12 months, helping you avoid seasonal high bills .
Automatic Payment Plan. Monthly bill payments are automatically withdrawn from your checking, savings, or credit card account.
Automated Pay-By-Phone. Pay using Visa or Mastercard by calling 800-780-6486, ext. 105. Please have your account number handy when you call.
Prepaid Billing. Pay ahead for your electricity and eliminate late penalties and disconnect fees. Requires an energy purchase of $50 to begin.
After Hours Payments. Use the payment drop box at CEC locations in Hugo, Idabel and Antlers, or use SmartHub to pay online.
Authorized Payment Locations. Pay your bill at any of the following locations Monday through Friday during regular office hours.
