Sheryl stated that much or her time, in her various job du- ties, is spent making sure we comply with regulations. The federal laws, labor laws, HIPPA laws, FLSA and especially the requirements brought about by the Affordable Care Act.

1. Check your fuse or breaker box.. 2. Check with your neighbors. Is their power off? If so, have they already reported the outage? 3. Call CEC at 375-4121 or our toll free outage number 1-800-375-4121 and the trouble will be corrected as soon as possible. Have your service number, account number, or map location ready. Connect, Disconnects Not Made On Weekends

Please do not call and request that a connect, disconnect, or reconnect be made from 5:00 p.m. on Friday until 8:00 a.m. Monday, as we do NOT have anyone on duty during that time for that type of work. All connects, disconnects will be made on a Monday through Friday schedule.

Health Care is an area where costs can really get out of hand. We are constantly looking for ways to offer better health care options to our employees as well as keeping our plan affordable. That is one of the reasons we are now self insured and have become a partner with the Kempton Group to control cost. We also place a lot of emphasis in our wellness plan as well as preventative healthcare, which is very important to stay healthy and avoid cost.

The biggest change she has seen, since beginning her ca- reer has been in technology. In the past, she would mail out the Board’s monthly board packets, but now through mod- ern technology, these are sent electronically to each Direc- tor’s I-Pad.

Sheryl said her greatest fear concerning Cimarron Electric’s future is with future legislation. The EPA regulations have the potential to make electricity more expensive and less reli- able for our members.

Over the years, Sheryl said," All of the board members and managers that I have worked with, always have the mem- ber’s interest at heart in the decisions they make at each board meeting. Keeping the rates affordable and the elec- tricity reliable as well as being accountable to our members are their top priorities. When disasters strike, like ice storms and tornadoes, they have a camaraderie to pull together and help out anyway they can.”

Sheryl also stated that she is proud to be a member of the electric Cooperative where she works, where members have Democratic control and can have a voice in making deci- sions for the Cooperative at their District and Annual Meet- ings.
