As delegates to the leadership conference, Faith and Josh earned $250 scholarships from SWRE and Touchstone. In a special drawing at the event Faith was also chosen to receive an additional $500 scholarship from Touch- stone Energy.

The event was held on Saturday, Janu- ary 17, at the Devon Boathouse in Oklahoma City’s Boathouse District on the Oklahoma River. Faith and Josh joined more than 25 students from 14 other Oklahoma cooperatives for a day of activities that taught them how to be leaders and positive role models in their

schools and communities. The training was led by Rhett Laubach and Kelly Barnes who shared personal insights that encouraged self-awareness and coached the students on ways to identify their own strengths and expand their net- work of relationships.

At the conclusion of the leadership sum- mit, students attended a Barons hockey game in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown. “Southwest Rural Electric is a strong supporter of youth and school programs throughout out 11-county service area in Texas and Oklahoma,” said Mike Hagy, SWRE CEO. “Texoma has great young peo- ple, and we at SWRE are incredibly proud of them and their accomplishments.”
