Slow Cooker Pork Sliders


 12 Hawaiian rolls  24 slice thin sliced deli ham  12 slices Swiss cheese  ½ cup melted butter  3 tablespoons minced onion  1 tablespoon Dijon or spicy brown mustard


 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce  1 ½ teaspoons poppy seeds


Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut the


Hawaiian rolls in half. Place the bottom halves into an 8 x 8-inch baking dish. (They will fi t snugly.) Layer each roll with two slices of ham and a slice of cheese. Place the top of the roll on. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the minced onion and cook until tender. Stir in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce and poppy seeds. Pour the mixture evenly over the sliders. Cover the baking dish with foil. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 5 to 10 minutes, until the sandwiches are golden. Serve warm.


Slow Cooker Pork Sliders Yields 12 Sliders


 2 ½ to 3 pounds boneless pork shoulder  2 teaspoons kosher salt  1 teaspoon black pepper  3 tablespoons brown sugar  1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika  1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder  ½ teaspoon allspice  ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper  1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce  2 tablespoons cider vinegar  2 tablespoons orange juice  ¼ cup water  Barbeque sauce  12 Hawaiian rolls, split in half  Coleslaw


Cut the pork into 2-inch pieces. In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, sug- ar, paprika, garlic powder, allspice and cayenne pepper. Rub into pork. Place pork into a slow cooker and add the liq- uid ingredients. Turn the slow cooker on to high and cook for about 3 hours, or until the pork is very tender. Shred the meat with two forks. Or, place the pork into the bowl of stand mixer. With the paddle attachment on, mix on medi- um-low speed just until the meat is shred- ded, about 1 to 2 minutes. Mix the shredded meat with barbecue sauce. Spoon the meat onto the bottom half of the Hawaiian roll. Top with coleslaw and the top half of the roll.
