The Sim Mom Manikin simulates labor and delivery for student nurses at Northeast Technology Center’s Pryor campus.

“Upon successful comple on of the prac cal nursing program, which typically takes 15-18 months, students can go to work as an licensed prac cal nurse (LPN),” said Thompson. “However, an individual could also complete a single course – a cer fi ed nursing assistant (CNA) course, for example – and go to work as a CNA while they con nue working toward their LPN. Those interested in taking their medical training to an even higher level can complete our medical training courses and then bridge to a registered nurse program, which is basically an associate's degree.” *461684*

While NTC does not off er a registered nurse program or a bachelor's of science in nursing (BSN), these opportuni es are available at many local universi es.

With the excep on of the Health Careers course, all of NTC’s medical programs require students be at least 18 years of age.

“Students do have to be 18 if they want to enroll in the Prac cal February 2016 - 9

Nursing Program, or any of our individual adult educa on cer fi ca on courses, like CNA or LPN,” Thompson reiterated.
