KEC’s Residential Generator Program Whole-home generator installs available

Major storm outages such as those resulting from ice,

tornado, flooding and other causes, can be both physically and financially devastating to homeowners. Being out of power for time periods that exceed 24 hours, can lead to major losses in freezers and refrigerators and other out of pocket expenses. How does it work? If you allow KEC to run your gen-

erator during the peak hours of the year, you will receive a credit on your bill. In other words, it saves KEC and you, the member-owner, electrical costs. The homeowner will incur fuel cost to operate the generator during peak. This cost is clearly covered by your monthly credit. Couple the electricity savings with the savings you get when you save that freezer of beef and vegetables, and now you have a pretty good investment on your hands. The new residential load control rate (generator) will be given to the member all year round. A Demand Response

Unit (DRU) will be installed on the generator’s transfer switch, thus allowing KEC to control the load during peak times. The member will know when a peak is called and how long their generator will be running. Peak season is June through the first week of September. This program is turn-key for KEC’s membership. KEC

will perform a site-evaluation, size the generator accord- ingly, install the generator and hook-up to the member’s fuel source. Once completed, the member has the option to participate in KEC’s annual maintenance program where KEC personnel maintain the unit for a $150 annual fee. If you would like to reduce your electricity costs and

ensure complete peace of mind with power reliability, give us a call today. Austin Partida, Tom Gleason and Cyndi Mitchell are ready to help you determine if the time is right. Ask for any of them at 1-800-535-1079.
