to get serious about "going geo." W

Why? This year, co-op members who enroll in KEC's geothermal program will receive cash rebate of $1,050 per ton rebate on qualifying geothermal heat pumps. KEC also lowered the minimum efficiency on qualifying heat pumps to 15.9 EER/3.3 COP to include more manufacturers and more models. The co-op also removed the previous hot water generator requirement, allowing participating members the choice of installing a hot water generator for an additional $150 bonus.

The geothermal program makes geothermal heat pumps more affordable by removing the cost of installing the ground loops. This measure saves co- op members thousands of dollars in upfront expenses by allowing them to lease the loops for a small monthly fee.

ith bigger and better cash-back incentives, this is the year for Kiamichi Electric members

Kiamichi Electric is partnering with Geo-Energy Services (GES)and Western Farmers Electric Cooperative to bring the program to co-op members.

Members who take advantage of the program can see their geothermal heat pump costs reduced by as much as half. Members who install their units by December 2016 also qualify for a federal income tax credit. This credit will expire at the end of the year so members are urged to act before the year is up to receive maximum value for their unit.

Members who participate receive start-to-finish assistance from GES. This includes locating qualified local contractors to install the unit, reviewing designs to ensure proper sizing, and helping members keep an eye on costs.

If you have questions about the program or wonder if going geothermal is right for you, please contact the specialists at GES at 844-464-6436 or send email to geothermal@kiamichielectric.org.
