The brand’s MHR brolly has been a true stalwart in recent years but now it’s time for two new shelters to take the strain; falling under the Tactical sub-brand, both are designed as ultra-lightweight, mobility-focussed shelters that have numerous options to expand their potential.

The Tactical Brolly is a 7-rib design that means it has what appears to be a high central ‘peak’ to offer huge amounts of headroom whilst still keeping it relatively compact. It’s a fl at back design with a built-in rear skirt so there’s somewhere to keep luggage dry, and a rear vent offers air fl ow for those hot summer days. Like the MHR, it features rib-mounted storage pockets.

The Tactical Bivvy shares an equally eye-catching design that presents the user with loads of internal room in what seems like quite a small shelter. It’s a deceiving piece of kit with steep sides so you’re not pressed against overhanging material when you’re asleep, meaning it’s a proper home-from-home despite the fact it’s designed to be easily packable for mobile fi shing.

The fact there’s camo accents across both models means they’re on-trend and we love the fact that there are overwrap and multiple door options (mesh, solid and clear) that are quickly zipped-in.

For anglers who want a versatile shelter, both models have the ability to be ‘winterfi ed’ at a low cost.

Wychwood RS2 Reel

Machined from T6061-T6 aluminium for a brilliant blend of lightweight and strength, the RS2 exudes premium level craftmanship. It steps away from the cassette functionality of the SLA series offers a more traditional design of a frame and removable spool. The anthracite fi nish (think dark grey with a hint of copper) is very neutral and thanks to some really interesting work by the UK design team, the reel sheds a lot of weight thanks to heavy porting that reveals a chassis that’s elegant but strong thanks to inverted spokes. The fact the 7/8 version weighs only 156g tells the story – there are 3Ž4 and 5/6 versions also available, with RRPs starting at under £200.
