Gardner Tackle secures its future
M
ichele and Richard Gardner have put measures into place
to ensure a stable and secure future for the employees of Gardner Tackle Ltd, by signing the contractual documents necessary to fi nalise an EOT (Employee Ownership Trust) - passing a signifi cant portion of ownership of shares in the company to a trust run on behalf of the employees. The creation of the subsidiary company, Gardner Trustees Ltd, ensures that the brand will move forward under the guidance and in continued cooperation with the company’s long standing directors, who have built up an enormous pool of experience and trade knowledge over the years that they have successfully built the famous Surrey tackle company. Michele Gardner, who sits on the new Trustee board, along with existing managing director Richard Gardner, said: “This is a historic day for us. We wanted to leave the company in good hands when we eventually retire and an EOT seemed the answer to our dilemma. We are confi dent that our loyal team of staff who have been with us for many years will continue to run Gardner Tackle with continued success.”
24 | Tackle & Guns | January 2020 Ringer leaves Daiwa
S
teve Ringer is leaving Daiwa – and joining Guru in a full time role. Steve has happily shared consultancy
roles with both Daiwa and Guru for almost a decade and has enjoyed tremendous personal success during that time. According to Daiwa he has made an excellent contribution to product development and been a great ambassador for the brand – something that the trade will wholeheartedly agree and applaud.
Steve said: “I would like to start off by saying a big thank you to Daiwa
for their help and support over the last nine years, it really has and always will be much appreciated. I think it’s only fair to say that without this I wouldn’t be in the position I am today and going forward I will be continuing to use Daiwa equipment where appropriate. “I must add that this isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly, but having been involved at Guru from the very start they are a company that I will always hold dear to my heart. With this in mind when the opportunity to be more involved came up, it was one that I felt I just couldn’t turn down.”
