Securi-Cabin’s Eco range
Securi-Cabin has specialised in anti-vandal portable accommodation for over 20 years, with a current emphasis on eco-friendly mobile welfare units. It says that two of its most popular models are the Eco-7 and Eco-7+ towable welfare units, which have a fully retractable drawbar system for safer on-site positioning and improved hitching manoeuvrability. They can cater for up to seven people and include a large canteen area with a table and seating, hot running water, a kettle and microwave. The units also include a drying room, a chemical toilet and washing facilities. The Eco-7+ model has a fresh water flushing toilet, integrated water and waste tanks, a 10-litre hot water storage heater, 12V motion-activated LED lighting and aluminium flooring throughout.

Wernick Hire, which manufactures and supplies site accommodation, recently provided units free of charge for construction crews on a special episode of the BBC programme ‘DIY SOS’, chronicling the transformation of eight houses into homes adapted for armed forces veterans in Manchester.
The company became involved as it has a long-standing service level agreement with Kier, who acted as principal contractor on the project. A store, office, canteen and toilet unit were supplied, with a self-contained mobile welfare unit also being provided later on for traffic control and overnight security.
The residential location made delivery of the units particularly challenging, requiring careful planning, as some houses in the area were occupied throughout the project.

Teal Patents has re-designed its Handeman Xtra, a compact hot water handwashing station that can provide up to 15 washes of ten seconds’ duration. It is available in 12V and 24V versions for use in vehicles, and can also be supplied as a mains powered unit. It is self-contained, with its own tank, and waste water is stored in an integral container. A soap dispenser and paper towel holder can also be supplied. In addition, the product is available as a portable version, which keeps water hot for up to five hours depending on the initial temperature of the pre-heated water used.
