This course will assist in preparing for the American Board of Periodontology (ABP) examination by providing strategies for studying, utilizing key resources, and offering a plan to

become a Diplomate of the ABP. This program reflects all the current Board regulations, highlighting the significant changes in the examination.

Educational Objectives:

• Identify the ongoing changes in the ABP guidelines and review the process leading to Board certification.

• Develop a workable timetable and strategy to prepare for successfully completing the ABP examination using readily available resources.

• Review selected topics with literature-based presentations with suggestions on ways to utilize the literature in the analysis and discussion of the traditional “case scenarios” presented in the oral examination.
