It also produces an abundance of side shoots when the main head has been cut off extending the harvest season. Usually grown as a fall crop and can withstand frost which improves flavor. Sow seeds directly into the garden in late spring. Sow thinly, 3-4" apart, ¼" deep in rows 30" apart. Allow 10 days for germination and later thin plants to 18" apart. Harvest sprouts often, picking the lowest sprouts on the stem first. As soon as the next sprout forms, remove the accompanying leaf to leave room for the sprout to grow and mature.


Jade Cross Hybrid


80 Day. One of the earliest of the hybrid Brussels sprouts for short grow- ing season gardens and very uniform. Plants will grow to 30-32" with uni- form sprouts all along the plant. Tis variety is one of the best for freezing.
