Higher Apprenticeship in Human Resource


Management HR professionals are required to perform to a high standard to ensure that resources are managed as efficiently as possible, that staff are retained and released where appropriate, and that policies are adhered to. It is therefore important that current and future HR professionals are equipped with the right skills to remain competitive in the workplace.


By combining on and off-the-job learning, those undertaking a Higher HR Apprenticeship will develop insights into their organisation’s business challenges and capability needs, and will therefore be more effective in applying their knowledge to support their organisation’s goals.


This programme is aimed at those working in HR officer or assistant HR manager roles and offers a new route to Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).


Higher apprentices will cover key modules such as Developing Professional Practice in Human Resource, Understanding the Business Context of Human Resource, Understanding the Contemporary Human Resource Function and Using a Research Approach in Human Resources.


You will complete the Level 5 Diploma in Applied Human Resources as part of this programme. This qualification is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).


Progression


Successful apprentices could continue to progress via a number of opportunities, such as CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management, undergraduate and post graduate degrees in HR management or business-related areas, various HR manager/advisor roles or through membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Leadership and Management Management and leadership skills have a major impact on the development, productivity and performance of organisations of all sizes and across all sectors of the economy. In today’s fast-moving, competitive environment there is a need to continue to drive up the performance of the best and to address weaknesses in management and leadership that are holding back productivity and performance.


This Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Leadership & Management has been developed to support those working as managers, senior managers, heads of department, directors and those working in a range of other senior management positions.


Managers operating at Level 5 play an integral role in setting and supporting organisational objectives through a wide range of functions, such as: Informing strategic decision-making, managing budgets, planning and implementing change and leading teams and managing programmes of complimentary projects.


The key aims of this framework are to provide employers of all sizes and across all sectors with a high-quality, nationally-recognised programme which will attract new talent into management and up-skill the existing workforce to make businesses more productive, efficient and profitable.


You will complete the Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and Leadership and the Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership as part of this programme, both of which are awarded by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).


Progression


With support and opportunities in the workplace, you can progress onto a range of management and other professional qualifications at Level 6 and above, Higher Education to undertake management, business or other qualifications, and, possible membership of professional bodies, including the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership & Management.
