The end result is an EIA based on clearly defined environmental parameters that would govern or define the full range of development possibilities and hence the likely environmental impacts that could flow from the grant of development consent.
6.
Therefore, the information presented in this chapter covers the range of potential design parameters upon which the subsequent impact assessment chapters are based.
5.1.2 Project Description Terminology 7.
This project description uses specific terms for different site areas offshore and onshore. These terms are also used within the technical chapters (Chapter 7 to Chapter 29). For clarity these are summarised in Table 5.1.
Table 5.1 Project Description Terminology. Terminology
East Anglia THREE project Site Location and Description
The complete project consisting of up to 172 wind turbines, offshore collector and converter stations, offshore accommodation platform, inter-array cables, interconnection cables, up to 2 operational meteorological masts, offshore export cables, fibre optic cables, landfall infrastructure, onshore cables and ducts, onshore converter station(s) and cable connection from the proposed onshore converter station to the National Grid at Bramford.
East Anglia THREE site
The 305km2 area within the offshore windfarm boundary including the following infrastructure: wind turbines, inter- array cables, interconnection cables, fibre optic cables, offshore collector stations, offshore converter stations, offshore accommodation platform and up to 2 operational meteorological masts.
Offshore cable corridor
The up to 155km long and up to 10km wide corridor at its widest point within which up to four individual offshore export cables and up to two fibre optic cables may be laid from the East Anglia THREE site to the landfall location.
Landfall location Onshore cable route
The area where the offshore export cables would make contact with land, and connect to the onshore cables.
The 37km long and nominal 75m wide corridor within which up to four power cables and up to two fibre optic cables would be buried to connect the proposed East Anglia THREE project to the onshore converter station.
Onshore converter station location
The proposed location of the onshore converter station for the proposed East Anglia THREE project at Bramford. The converter station compound will cover 2.61ha.
