DOGS IN ART
OPENING MARCH 2016
The couple started
gathering recipes back in 2011 when Platt started culinary school. They have more than 2000 handwritten recipes which should keep foodies happy for a very long time. Items like the Quinoa Bowl with red quinoa and white beans. Add your choice of chicken, steak, pork, veggie or egg and your choice of taco toppings. Soups (Watermelon Gazpacho anyone?), salads and sweets (homemade ice- cream with fresh blueberries). The generous, juicy burgers are tantalizingly presented on fresh-from-the-oven, homemade brioche buns. And the made-to-order egg sandwich is to die for. A host of sensory-busting side dishes will test your decision-making prowess, as will the tasteful selection of craft beers. They make everything
a work of art, including the service.
The Aloha spirit In the Hawaiian language, aloha stands for much more than just "hello" or "goodbye." It also stands for love and a much deeper meaning that is: shar- ing; in the present (alo); affection, joy (oha); energy, life, breath (ha). Translated, this simply means, "Joyfully sharing life." The next time you greet a friend with "Aloha," hold its meaning close to your heart and think of the picture you are painting. It's a beautiful world, and The HONU in Dunedin is a beautiful place to just be.
