News in Skin care at Lifetime Achievement Award


The Scratch Star Awards 2016 recognised Susan Gerrard with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to the beauty industry at a glamorous ceremony in the world famous Café de Paris, Piccadilly.


Susan, Chairman of Gerrard International, has championed natural nail health, bringing the Jessica brand to the UK 25 years ago. She subsequently went on to create the popular make-up brand, Mii Cosmetics.


Describing Susan as ‘quality personified’ and an ‘industry icon’, Scratch’s Editor in Chief Alex Fox announced: “Alongside her family, she has built an empire that is to be admired and celebrated. She supports industry initiatives, elevates the spirit of the tech and believes whole-heartedly in education and product evolution.”


Susan received the award alongside her husband, Ian, on their 50th wedding anniversary with her family in attendance. “I felt extremely humbled and blessed to have been presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award,” Susan told us. “Although Gerrard International has been recognised for its dedication to customer service, this truly represents a pinnacle achievement in my career. I love our industry and I love what I do.”

routines revealed A new poll conducted by makeupbrushes.co.uk has found that the average British woman spends 231 hours and 20 minutes per year applying her make-up – the equivalent of nine days, 15 hours and 24 minutes! The research is part of an ongoing study into the make-up routines of British women; 2,496 British women over the age of 18 were quizzed about their beauty regimes. In the same study, 67% of women admitted they had been questioned on their health or well-being on an occasion where they have chosen not to wear make-up.
