Pilates Barre classes are an energetic mix of Yoga, Pilates, Fitness and Dance using a wall mounted bar to strengthen, condition and stretch your entire body. You will move, pulse, lengthen and strengthen your entire body. Pi- lates Barre class participants will feel the grace and ease of a dancer with the grit and sweat of a gym workout. This is a cooperative program with the Woodridge Park District.

Energetic Yoga Lisle Community Center, Room C • 1825 Short Street, Lisle


Intermediate yoga is designed for an energetic total body workout along with calming your mind. Participants will learn to build strength, flexibility, cardio and balance using a flow practice that will challenge you in a variety of ways. Be prepared to sweat as you move through the yoga poses in a continuous sequence. Participants must be familiar with basic yoga poses.

Instruction for this class will include asana and vinyasa posture sequences in which relaxation/meditation techniques are introduced as an integral part of yoga philosophy and practice. Just about anyone can practice yoga because there is an emphasis on advancing gradually, sensibly, and safely. These classes are for both beginner and returning students.

Tai Chi exercise also can in- crease muscle strength / endurance, improve flexibility / coordination / bal- ance, relax mind / body, reduce anxiety / stress, and improve circulation / breathing / digestion. For both mind and body, there is nothing like this gen- tle, relaxed, graceful, holistic exercise art. Instructor is Dr. Xiaoping Xu. She is a master of Tai Chi, having over 20 years of teaching Tai Chi experience to over thousands of people in China, Japan and the USA. Dr. Xu is also a MD and PhD specializing in acupuncture / integrative holistic medicine. This is a cooperative program with the Woodridge Park District.
