Games and group activities are used to introduce phonics and reinforce reading readiness skills as we explore the world of beginning reading. Emphasis is on building from students’ prior knowledge and skills.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS


Does your child have a special interest that he or she would like to explore (i.e. cooking, reading, math, sports or arts and crafts) or would your child like to spend a fun filled afternoon at the Recreation Center? If so, then the Lisle Park District’s enrichment programs were designed just for them!


NOTE: Must have turned the required age by Sept. 1, 2016 and toilet trained.

Enjoy learning beginning mathematic skills through games, experiments and hands-on activities. Emphasis is focused on helping children to think for themselves and to find their own solutions while having fun.

Arctic Arts Lisle Recreation Center • 1925 Ohio Street, Lisle


Put on your parka (smock) and plow through a variety of different art tech- niques. This class is sure to cure your cabin fever and warm your mind as you create free expressive art and be learn some basic art principles. The emphasis of this class will be on the art process itself allowing the children to work with a variety of mediums including clay, paint and craft projects.

Get out your aprons and join us for a a fun-filled hour of creative cooking. Kids mix, measure and make a variety of kid friendly foods. A different menu will be offered each week allowing your child to create and taste an assortment of foods. Recipes will be sent home at the end of each class.
