GREETINGS
As 2016 nears its end, I want to thank each and every one of you for another terrific year. We’ve seen the popularity of our programs, facilities and events continue to grow and that is testament to your support and value of parks and recreation. In 2017, we will be celebrating 50 years of service to the community. We have special programs, events and activities scheduled throughout the year, and hope you will join us in the celebration. Please refer to our website for a complete list of scheduled activities.
The Park District is providing an additional communication to highlight financial reports, projects, and other useful information you may not be able to readily access through our website, annual audits, or this program brochure. We hope you find it beneficial
and look forward to hearing your feedback. Along these same lines, I am proud to report that in 2015 the Park District employed 433 individuals, nearly half of whom live in town. Over half of those employees are under the age of 25, making the Lisle Park District a significant employer of the community’s youth. We are pleased to provide that sort of service and proud to tout the many skills, talents, and work ethics of our youth. If you know someone looking for seasonal or part time employment that has the time, work ethic and commitment to serving others, please encourage them to apply online at
lisleparkdistrict.org/jobs. Who knows, it could even lead to a career in parks and recreation – it did for me!
As always, I encourage you to flip through the brochure to see all of the opportunities offered through the Park District. If you don’t see anything that appeals to you and your family, please let us know what programs you have an interest in. It is the mission of the Lisle Park District to enrich the quality of life for people of all ages by providing constructive and creative leisure opportunities, and the best way for us to do that is to get feedback from you. Please feel free to contact me or anyone else at the Park District directly should you have any questions, comments or suggestions on how we can better serve you.
On behalf of the entire Lisle Park District staff and Board of Park Commissioners, we wish you a holiday season full of good cheer with family and friends. Have a happy, healthy and active 2017!
