Learn the characteristics of successful babysitting while taking part in dis- cussion and role-playing activities. This class will cover skills such as how to properly handle accidents and emergencies while providing basic first aid care, child development, diapering, feeding and playing with children. CPR is covered although students will not be certified. Student handbook and reference materials are included. Students receive a certificate after completing the 8-hour class.

ACT scores are very important to the college admissions process. They are one of the only ways you can significantly impact your application in a short period of time. In this seminar, we will sort through the many concerns, questions, and uncertainty students may feel. Topics covered will include tips / strategies for taking the test, basics of the admissions process, and test anxiety. Students will leave feeling more confident, organized, prepared, and strategic.

A practice test is crucial to ward off those test day jitters and predict how you may score on the real thing. Experience first-hand what test day is like. A representative from Sylvan will provide a proctored ACT practice test and students will be contacted with their scores and analyzed results.
NOTE: Please bring a healthy snack and a drink, #2 sharpened pencils and a calculator. Wear comfortable clothing. Cell phones will not be allowed.

Find out the most common mistakes teens are making during the job search and how you can avoid making them. Gain valuable knowl- edge on how to prepare an effective application or resume. Learn how social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are used by em- ployers to find out about you before you even get an interview.
INSTRUCTOR: Taught by recreation professionals from surrounding park districts with experience hiring young staff, this class can help set you apart from your competition and land the job you actually want.

You are invited to meet with local park district representatives from Downers Grove, Lisle, Woodridge, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Oakbrook Terrace, and Bolingbrook to find out about their summer employment opportunities. Fill out an application on-site, take it home with you, or just come to ask questions. You’ll also be able to register for our Interview/ Application Training class to gain valuable knowledge on how to prepare an effective application or resume.
NOTE: The job fair is FREE, but registration is required for the Interview/ Application Training.

It’s the best thing around on a Friday night. Call all your friends and meet them at Lisle Junior High School to play basketball or dance with the DJ as he plays all of your favorite songs. After Hours is for Jr. High students residing in Lisle.
Students must have an After Hours card to enter. Cards may be pur- chased at the Lisle Park District Recreation Center, Lisle Junior High School registration or day of at the entrance to After Hours. Students need to purchase a new After Hours card each school year. Grades: 6-8.
