Jaguar Land Rover UK have appointed Rachael Thompson as sales director. Rachael, who moves from her


previous role as national sales manager for Jaguar UK, will take responsibility for sales operations and planning in Jaguar Land Rover’s largest global market, with the UK sales volume expected to hit more than 100,000 in 2016. She will be responsible for


overseeing growth in the private and fleet sectors, boosted by class- leading models like the Jaguar XE and Range Rover Evoque. She said: “I’m delighted to be


part of Jaguar Land Rover’s journey and working with the talented team we have here.”

effort to further improve efficiencies, the extremely high interest and attention towards this new rotary powered sports car will play a large role in the future of next generation rotary engines and the reigniting of a once coveted dream technology to its former glory.”

Jaguar Classic is to develop a new tyre package for the classic XJ220 sports car. Engineered and created in


partnership with Pirelli, the new tyre features a bespoke P Zero design that is perfectly suited to the unique characteristics of the XJ220, incorporating the latest tyre technology to enhance the car’s performance even further. Produced between 1992 and 1994,


the Jaguar XJ220 was originally conceived by a group of Jaguar engineers who wanted to create a modern version of the brand’s successful Le Mans-winning cars from the 1950s and 1960s using the latest racing technology at their disposal. The car needed to be a

technologically advanced road- going supercar that would satisfy Group B homologation requirements and reach over 200mph. It certainly fulfilled its brief and


overcame a number of complex engineering hurdles. In June 1993, driven by ex-Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle at the Nardo circuit in Italy, hit 217.1mph (349.4km/h). Tim Hannig, director of Jaguar


Land Rover Classic, said: “The Jaguar XJ220 was an instant classic. “It is a revered car in the history


of Jaguar, and our business is now undertaking various restoration projects for XJ220 customers. “This new tyre permits the full


performance of the glorious XJ220 to be exploited where appropriate.”
