INTERNATIONAL NEWS
All of ART Marine’s managed marinas are enrolled in TYHA’s Gold Anchor Scheme, with two holding 5 Gold Anchor accreditation and others under process. “We are firm supporters of TYHA and its Gold Anchor Scheme,” explained Bruno Meier. “From the perspective of reputation and pride when flying the Gold Anchor flag, to the reassurance it offers marina owners that we as operators are independently audited by an international organisation on our procedures and customer feedback, and also the direct and personal involvement TYHA offers in the design process to ensure that marinas are built safely and to standards of usability expected the world over.”
“While we would always strive for our marinas to be 5-Gold Anchors, as a demonstration of the experience members and visitors will receive, even if a marina can only achieve a couple of Anchors due to its facility provision, the service levels, safety and procedures members and visitors will receive will be unchanged, as they are basic requirements to score even one Gold Anchor. It is this 360-degree approach to experiencing a marina that sets the Gold Anchor Scheme apart. It is certified from both an observer and technical perspective.” Bruno continued. Encouraged by the recent combining of the MIA and TYHA schemes to provide a single Gold Anchor accreditation system, Toby would also like to see the barrier pushed further.
“The standards expected by marina users these days grows every season, and, like A-level results, that should be reflected in the Award criteria,” he explained. “Having achieved your Gold Anchors it is easier to maintain them without changing and developing, but if the criteria is also changing, then it pushes operators and owners to also see marinas as a true hospitality business, not simply asset management. That is,” he concluded, “provided the criteria changes are for the ultimate benefit of the user, not simply additional administrative practices they will never experience. No-one needs more red tape!”
